The Virginia Zoo currently displays nearly 400 animals, ranging from African elephants to Siberian tigers.Africa is the
most exciting expansion in the Virginia Zoo's history and added nine new species to the Zoo, including zebra, lion,
giraffe, red river hog and meerkat.

Shenandoah National Park

stretches over 100 miles from its northern entrance at Front Royal to its southern entrance near Waynesboro.

Prince William Forest Park
Prince William Forest Park offers 37 miles of hiking trails and 21 miles of bicycle-accessible roads and trails that
traverse this 15,000 acre piedmont forest. There are also cabins and other areas for camping and much more.

Monticello
Explore the house, gardens, and plantation of Monticello, the mountaintop home of Thomas Jefferson, third president of the
United States and author of the Declaration of Independence. All tours of the interior of the house are guided. During
certain months, the house's 'greenhouse' and flanking venetian porches are open for visitors to enjoy. Every angle of the
house's exterior has something to admire, and the raised flanking terraces offer sweeping views of the forests to the
southeast and choice glimpses of Charlottesville and the University of Virginia to northwest.

Colonial Williamsburg
Colonial Williamsburg is the nation’s largest outdoor living history museum encompassing 301acres including some 500
public buildings, homes, stores and taverns reconstructed and restored to their 18th-century appearances; tradesmen
practicing 30 historic trades and domestic crafts; historical interpreters and character actors; and 90 acres of gardens
and greens.
