Golden Spike National Historic Site


May 10, 1869, two railroad companies, Union Pacific and Central Pacific, joined 1,776 miles of rail at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory. This event sparked unforetold consequences still reflected in our great nation today. Golden Spike National Historic Site commemorates this incredible accomplishment of the completion of the first transcontinental railroad.

Tracy Aviary

There is no end to fun and educational experiences you and your family, your friends or group can have at Tracy Aviary. The Aviary is open every day of the year with the exeption of Christmas Day. We offer year-round exhibits, bird shows, and educational classes for all ages.

Utah Museum of Natural History

Get an up-close look at the brilliance of fossils. Utah Museum of Natural History's Fall Special Exhibit combines large format photographs with objects from our paleontology collection. The Utah Museum of Natural History is pleased to bring special exhibitions from around the country to the Dumke Gallery. The Utah Museum of Natural History holds over 45,000 sq. foot of permanent exhibits space. The exhibits range from dioramas of Utah's wild habitats designed in the Museum's early days to new casts of newly discovered dinosaur species.

Location: The Museum is the first building on the south corner of Presidents Circle, on the west edge of the University of Utah campus. Salt Lake City, UT

Utah's Hogle Zoo

For years, Utah's Hogle Zoo has been among the best things about living in and visiting our community. Generations of families have been entertained and educated here. Millions of tourists have enjoyed our animals and exhibits. Each year, some 700,000 guests pass through our gates. Half are our neighbors in Salt Lake County; the other half is divided between visitors from elsewhere in Utah and from outside our state. The Zoo's animal collection includes over 1,100 specimens of 250 species.
