Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo has four primary objectives: conservation, research, recreation, and education. In promoting
these objectives on a local, regional, national, and global scale, the Zoo provides exciting recreational opportunities
that simultaneously enhance our visitors' knowledge of the natural world. The Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom Pavilion,
Lozier IMAX Theater, and Cat Complex showcase fascinating wildlife and exotic places. The Scott Aquarium and Lied Jungle,
Desert Dome, Kingdoms of the Night, Hubbard Gorilla Valley and Hubbard Orangutan Forest provide immersive environments
that display animals in their natural habitats.
Location: On Nebraska's Interstate 80, take exit 454 (13th Street south exit). Go two blocks south and turn left at the
Rosenblatt Stadium / Henry Doorly Zoo sign. Continue east past the stadium and the road will turn north onto 10th Street.

Scotts Bluff National Monument
Towering eight hundred feet above the North Platte River, Scotts Bluff has been a natural landmark for many peoples, and
it served as the path marker for those on the Oregon, California, Mormon, and Pony Express Trails. Scotts Bluff National
Monument preserves 3,000 acres of unusual land formations which rise over the otherwise flat prairieland below. Visitors
can hike the Saddle Rock Trail, drive to the summit, visit the Oregon Trail Museum and Visitor Center, and even relive
life on the Oregon Trail.
Location: Visitors traveling east-west on Interstate 80 can exit at Kimball, Nebraska and drive 45 miles north on Highway
71. Follow National Park Service signs three miles west of Gering, Nebraska on Old Oregon Trail (State Highway 92 West).
Visitors following Old Oregon Trail along the North Platte River using State Highway 26 or 92, should follow the National

Omaha Children's Museum
The Omaha Children's Museum is a special place where children can challenge themselves, discover how the world works and
learn through play. There are many exhibits, programs and activities to enjoy, such as: Charlie Campbell Science and
Technology Center: This exhibit allows kids to explore, create, and observe science and technology in action. Creative
Center: A great exhibit for the budding artist, musician, playwright, or journalist! Kids Construction Company: Future
engineers and architects can build to their hearts content at this exhibit. With materials varying from colorful Giant
Lego blocks and builder boards, to giant Popsicle sticks; kids have the ability and imaginations to create buildings of
any size, shape, or dimension. Baker's StoreBaker’s Store: Shop ‘til you drop in this pint-sized grocery store created
especially for kids! The store offers a chance for kids to do the food shopping all on their own. Grocery carts and
shopping baskets enable children to do their own hunting and gathering. Kids can also choose to run the cashier, assisting
other smart shoppers as they check out. Rainbow Farm: The exhibit comes to life as children play in the farm house, meet
the farm animals, harvest and plant the garden, explore the pig pen, gather the eggs from the chicken coop, interact with
a scarecrow, dress up as a barnyard animal and learn to milk a cow, and much more.

Agate Fossil Beds National Monument
During the 1890s, scientists rediscovered what the Lakota Sioux already knew - bones preserved in one of the most complete
Miocene mammal sites in the world. Agate offers a wide variety of activities for its visitors. From the dramatic displays
to the breath-taking trails - there's something for everyone.
Location: Access to region by automobile is possible via Interstates 80, 90 and 25, and various state highways and county
roads. Visitors traveling east-west on U.S. Highway 26, turn North on State Highway 29 at Mitchell, Nebraska. The park is
34 miles from Mitchell, follow the National Park Service signs.
Visitors traveling on U.S. Highway 20, turn South on State Highway 29 at Harrison, Nebraska. The park is 22 miles from
