Grenada Lake
With nearly 36,000 acres of recreation surface water and 148 miles of shoreline in the summer, Grenada Lake is the largest
body of water in Mississippi. Boasting 17 boat landings, eight public beaches and camping areas for primitive and Class A
camping, the area is perfect for swimming, jetskiing, boating and bass and crappie fishing. Basketball courts, lighted
tennis courts, softball fields, fitness trails, nature/hiking trails and children's playgrounds round out the amenities.

Institute for Marine Mammal Studies
Dedicated to the understanding of marine life through research, education, conservation and innovation. The Institute for
Marine Mammal Studies (IMMS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1984. The mission of this organization is to support
innovative and important research regarding marine mammals and the environments in which they live to better understand
the role and responsibility humans have in the management of marine mammals both under human care and in the wild. At IMMS
we study marine mammals. Marine mammals include dolphins, whales, sea lions, and seals. We are dedicated to the study and
research of these animals to help the conservation of their environment and their lifestyle.

The Jackson Zoo
The Zoo serves up to 200,000 visitors annually, with 47% from the Jackson metro area, 43% from other Mississippi counties
and 10% from other states. The Zoo serves every segment of the population, creating a wonderfully diverse audience. The
Zoo is a living classroom. More than 50,000 school children visit the Zoo each year with their teachers. There were more
than 27,000 participants in last year's education programs. Zoo programs provide teachers with exciting curriculum-based
lessons for their students. The Zoo is a remarkable interactive family facility, with more than 90% of its visitors being
children under 12 with their accompanying parents and grandparents. The Jackson Zoo has over 700 animals including many
rare and endangered species.
