Wisconsin - The Milwaukee Public Museum


The Milwaukee Public Museum located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a place that everyone should visit at least once in their life, and if possible, visit it many times. This museum is huge, and to call it a museum is slightly misleading, in the fact that as far as a museum goes, it's one of the best in the entire country, but it also has much more then just a museum, as this article will try to point out in a very limited way.




The Milwaukee Public Museum has different levels or floors that contain full atmospheric areas or displays that let you actually be in such amazing settings or places as Africa, Latin America, Asia and many other places. You will hear the music, and see the sights and sounds of these actually places.


On the Ground Floor you can get everything you need to start your amazing journey, such as the cash you want or need at the ATM, if a family member or someone in your group needs a wheelchair, or a stroller, they can be found here. Visit the Marketplace, where you can find all kinds of amazing items, souvenirs and gifts, such as; unique rocks, books, amazing jewelry and other incredible items.


If you are hungry, you can go to The Milwaukee Public Museum Cafe, where you can enjoy wonderful salads, pizza, soups, and much more. There is also a large IMAX Theater, an one of the most modern Planetariums that Wisconsin has to offer, where you will see amazing 3D animations of such wonders of the heavens, as the milky way galaxy,the planets and much more.

Journey up to the First Floor, where you can journey back to Ancient Greek times, walk through a rain forest, see live insects, bugs and other critters from around the world, stroll through the beautiful Butterfly garden, see how things were back at the turn of the century in Milwaukee, and look at tons of incredible artifacts and specimens. On the Second Floor, some of the things you will experience are; The survival of Native Americans, Artifacts found in an archaeological site in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, Visit Wisconsin’s forests and woodlands and see the amazing plants and animals that are found there.


On the Third Floor you will, feel the bitter cold of the Arctic, and witness the heat of an African desert, see how ancient Egyptians preserved their dead as mummies, and much more.
