Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad
Crossroads Village, with its 34 historic structures, captures a simpler time. Stroll around our 51-acre Village where
friendly folks in period attire welcome you to the homes, mills and shops dating back to the 1800's. Visit the blacksmith
busy at his forge and the printer publishing the latest news. Perplexed by an illness? The doctor's office is dispensing
herbal remedies. Visit the early mills, where the power of water turns grain into flour, saws logs into lumber and
presses apples into cool, sweet cider.
The magnificent Huckleberry Railroad is waiting for you to board one of its 15 historic coaches for a nostalgic 8-mile,
45-minute ride. The Baldwin steam locomotive provides the power to carry more than 400 passengers on its narrow gauge
track. The Huckleberry Railroad was so named because passengers could jump off the train, pick huckleberries, and jump
back on with minimum effort. Today the historic train skirts the shores of beautiful Mott Lake taking passengers through
the scenic Genesee Recreation Area. For a true turn-of-the-century railroad experience, climb aboard the Huckleberry
Railroad for fun and excitement for the whole family!
Location: Crossroads Village and the Huckleberry Railroad are located just North of Flint. Follow I-475 North off I-75 or
I-69 to Saginaw Street - Exit 13. Take Saginaw Street north one-quarter mile to Stanley Road. Go East on Stanley road two
