Kentucky – Bourbon Festival


Of all the places to visit in Kentucky you will want to visit the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. This festival is really great because it celebrates bourbon in the bourbon capital! This year’s festival will be held September 16-21. This is an outstanding celebration because the people of Kentucky have been making bourbon since 1776. The tradition and amazing bourbon has resulted in Bardstown receiving the title of Bourbon Capital of the World.



Although this is a bourbon festival, there are still plenty of things for kids of all ages to enjoy. There are certainly plenty of opportunities for the adults to sample bourbon, but there is also amazing food, entertainment, and plenty of other activities. The festival really runs the gamut and you will find historical tours and even black tie galas.

The Kentucky Bourbon Festival is a five day event meaning you can pick and choose the activities to partake in. Of course, you could just enjoy all there is to explore in Bardstown and have fun at the festival, too. The city is located in the countryside and there are plenty of museums, trains, restaurants, shops, and more to explore and enjoy. You will be able to have fun and really see the Kentucky spirit when you visit during the festival. It’s a once a year experience that is worth the effort to attend. It’s fun, educational, and fun for the whole family.


Some events that will take place this year include the ancient craft of barrel making and bourbon making. There will be many more so you just need to make your plans to attend so you can see and learn new things. You will have so much fun so go ahead and plan your vacation.
