Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial
Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial preserves the site of the farm where Abraham Lincoln spent 14 formative years of his
life, from the ages of 7 to 21. He and his family moved to Indiana in 1816 and stayed until 1830 when they moved on to
Illinois.
Location: Located on Indiana Highway 162. From Interstate 64, exit at US 231, (exit 57) and travel south through Dale,
continue on U.S. 231 to Gentryville, then east on Indiana Highway 162 for two miles.

Children's Museum of Indianapolis
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis boasts a collection of more than 100,000 artifacts. The collection is a storehouse
of ideas and concepts; not only are these artifacts pathways to the thinking that has shaped our collective past, but also
to the new connections and discoveries yet unborn in the minds of young visitors. Collections contain many real items,
from dinosaur eggs and precious gems to sausage tree pods. Many interesting objects from the around the world illustrate
natural and physical science concepts. Cultural World Domain Collections contain folk toys, special clothes, decorated
everyday objects and art by children and internationally-known artists. akobi Quilt - a virtual exhibit. The quilt depicts
the dreams of a sleeping girl come to life on top of her covers! Her secret dreamland reveals a village of Dokabi, Korean
trolls, acting out traditional Korean stories. American Experience Domain Collections contain over 39,500 American and
African-American objects spanning almost 200 years, and much more.

Hesston Steam Museum
At the Hesston Steam Museum, history comes alive as real working steam locomotives take you on a journey over a
spectacular two and a half mile railroad, through deep woods, past lakes and farm fields. Or take a ride on a smaller
railroad. Our two miniature steam-powered railroads meander over bridges and through anenchanting wooded landscape. That's
not all, the Hesston Steam Museum is filled with other steam powered machinery including a steam-powered saw mill, 92 Ton
railroad steam crane, electric power plant, steam traction engines and much, much more. Students, children and even those
who remember these antique machines will be fascinated by the beautiful restoration and operation of machines that ushered
in our modern age.
Location: Located in harbor country only one and a half hours from Chicagoland. Take I-94 to Exit 1, south to county road
1000 north or Take the Indiana toll road to Exit 49, north on 139 to county road 1000 north and watch for our billboard.

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
Experience these sights at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore: Waves crashing on sandy beaches, Karner Blue butterflies
landing on wild lupines, Sweaty draft horses working the Chellberg Farm fields, Peaceful silence lingering along winter
trails, and Bank swallows flying from their nest inside the dunes. Do sunsets from the top of Mt. Baldy, watching birds
along the Little Calumet River, or smelling fresh baked cookies sound inviting? Throughout the year, activities such as
these and much more, await you at Indiana Dunes.
Location: Visitors can access the national lakeshore via I-94, the Indiana Toll Road, I-80/90, U.S. Highway 20, Indiana
State Highway 12, and various state roads. The Visitor Center is located three miles east of Indiana 49 at the
intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and Kemil Road, Beverly Shores, Indiana.

Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium
Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium, administered by the Department of Physics and Astronomy , has been serving Butler
University students and the Indianapolis public for nearly 50 years. The observatory, one of the largest public
observatories in the world, houses a 38-inch Cassegrain reflector.
