Miami Museum of Science & Planetarium
Features hands-on exhibits, continuous demonstrations, outdoor wildlife center with snakes, birds, insects and more. The
Miami Museum of Science brings history, ecology, and scientific research to life. The museum's newest feature, created in
cooperation with the Smithsonian, offers an adventurous approach to history and includes never-before-seen artifacts. As
visitors move through the 3,200-square-foot exhibit, they join an expedition, retracing the steps of archaeologists as
they journeyed through jungles and unearthed Mayan ruins throughout the Americas. The exhibit features 150 artifacts from
the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History, including four large stone carvings from Nicaragua that were sent to
the Smithsonian in 1849 and have not been displayed in more than 100 years.
