Rocky Mountains
This living showcase of the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains, with elevations ranging from 8,000 feet in the wet, grassy
valleys to 14,259 feet at the weather-ravaged top of Longs Peak, provides visitors with opportunities for countless
breathtaking experiences and adventures. From scenic dives and short strolls along a gentle trail to more ambitious
daylong hikes to vertical mountain climbs, Rocky Mountain National Park offers many ways to experience nature in all its
splendor. Although the great peaks comprise the essence of the park, the delicate alpine flowers, clear lakes, rushing
mountain waters, and impressive forests appeal to all the senses. An array of wildlife - bighorn sheep, ptarmigan, coyote,
elk - adds life to the landscape.

Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave
Born in 1846, William F. Cody experienced the Old West to its fullest. He herded cattle, worked on a wagon train, mined
for gold, rode in the Pony Express, and scouted for the Army. His skill as a buffalo hunter gained him the nickname
"Buffalo Bill." Buffalo Bill's Wild West shows traveled the world leaving a lasting vision of the American West. See
Sitting Bull's bow and arrows, Buffalo Bill's show outfits, Frederick Remington's "Portrait of a Ranch Hand," and many
other objects from the Old West in the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum. Begun in 1921 by Johnny Baker, Buffalo Bill's foster
son, the Museum illustrates the life, times, and legend of William F. Cody. It includes exhibits about Buffalo Bill's
life and the Wild West shows, Indian artifacts, Western art and firearms. Visit the one, and the only, grave of William F.
"Buffalo Bill" Cody. Feel the breezes from the high peaks of the Continental Divide, smell the Ponderosa Pines, and watch
the mountain wildlife, all just thirty minutes from downtown Denver.
Location: The museum is less than 30 minutes from downtown Denver. Take I-70 west to exit 256 (marked Buffalo Bill
Grave), then follow the signs. Or take 6th Avenue West to Golden and turn left onto the Lariat Trail (19th Street).
Follow the scenic winding road to the top of the mountain. Golden, CO

story of a very different, prehistoric Colorado. At the visitor center, you will receive orientation information and you
can see geologic exhibits and fossil displays. Behind the visitor center is an outdoor exhibit area where you can see
petrified redwood tree stumps and associated exhibits. In the summer, rangers give hourly talks in the amphitheater which
